Is this the right barn for you?

A quiet, discipline-neutral barn

Swan Creek suits people who want their horse well looked after and the ring free when they arrive. Western, English, trail, retired — it makes no difference to us. There is no house trainer to ride with and no program you are expected to join.

What we are strict about is the daily routine. Stalls get done every morning. Hay goes out twice a day. Horses go out unless the weather makes it unsafe. And somebody lays eyes on every horse, every day.

Care program

How your horse’s day goes

Feed

Hay twice daily, morning and evening. Grain fed to whatever program you set — bring your own feed and we will follow your instructions exactly. Free-choice water and salt in every stall and paddock.

Turnout

Daily turnout across TBD number of fenced paddocks and pastures, in groups matched to temperament. Horses come in for weather, not for convenience.

Stalls & bedding

TBD size matted box stalls with exterior windows, bedded on shavings and cleaned every morning. Wall hay racks and buckets scrubbed regularly.

Vet & farrier

You choose both. We coordinate scheduling, hold for appointments when you cannot make it, and call you first if anything looks wrong.

Moving in

Four steps to a stall

  1. Come and look

    Walk the barn, see the stalls and the turnout, ask whatever you want. No appointment pressure.

  2. Send the application

    A short form about your horse — age, temperament, feed program, vet and farrier.

  3. Sign and hold the stall

    Boarding agreement plus a deposit holds your stall for your move-in date.

  4. Move in

    Bring your Coggins and vaccination records, feed and tack. We will have the stall bedded.

Questions

Boarding FAQ

Can I bring my own trainer?

Yes. Outside trainers are welcome and there is no commission or ring fee. We just ask that they carry their own liability insurance and sign in at the barn.

Can I use my own vet and farrier?

Absolutely. You choose both. If you cannot make an appointment, we will hold your horse for a small fee so nothing gets rescheduled.

What are the arena hours?

Both arenas are open to boarders during barn hours, Daily, 7:00 AM – 9:00 PM. There is no booking system and no charge — if the ring is free, it is yours.

What vaccinations do you require?

A negative Coggins within the last twelve months, plus current Rabies, Eastern and Western Encephalomyelitis, Tetanus, West Nile and Influenza/Rhino. We ask for paperwork before move-in day.

Do you quarantine new horses?

New arrivals settle in a separate stall with limited contact for the first two weeks. It is the simplest way to keep everyone healthy.

Can I feed my own grain or supplements?

Yes. Bring what your horse is on and we will feed it. Supplements are fed at a small monthly add-on if you would like them pre-portioned.

Do you blanket?

Blanketing on and off with the weather is included in full board and available as an add-on for pasture and self-care boarders.

How much notice do I need to give if I leave?

Thirty days written notice. No penalty, no argument — we would just rather know so we can fill the stall.

Is there somewhere to park my trailer?

Yes, there is trailer parking on the property. Let us know when you move in and we will show you where.

What should I bring on move-in day?

Coggins and vaccination records, your signed boarding agreement, your horse’s feed and any supplements, blankets, and your tack. We supply hay, bedding and everything else.
